Kirby Building Systems India Ltd., has won the prestigious Infrastructure Excellence Award 2011, in the category - ‘PEB Project of the Year’. The company won the award for successful implementation of the single largest PEB building in the world, “Renault Nissan Automotive Pvt. India Ltd.” The project involved over 20,000 MT of steel with a covered area of 300,000 sqm. The trophy was presented by Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde, Hon’ble Union Minister for Power, Government of India. Mr. D Raju, Vice President - Kirby India & Southeast Asia , accepted the award at the felicitation ceremony on 19 April 2011, in New Delhi.
On receiving the award, Mr. D Raju said, “Kirby Building Systems started the revolution in the construction industry with the introduction of the PEB concept in India in 1999. With a rapid growth in just few years of its inception in India, PEB is revolutionizing the construction industry and Kirby is leading this revolution from the front with its constant innovation in products and applications. The Renault Nissan project is the first of its kind in utilizing PEB structures totally for an automobile plant in India. Our alternate technical offer vs. the original scope of work reduced the tonnage and saved the customer substantial amount, which was the winning factor for getting the order. It was the first time a combined erection procedure has been successfully implemented at this site. This project required not only the superior design but also flawless project management from start to finish. We delivered it with our commitment to excellence and vast experience in large & mega projects.”
